  The staff at this salon are absolutely lovely - everything you would want in fact. Friendly, professional and very welcoming.
  
  I hate to be negative because I genuinely liked the staff and would have happily continued to use this salon for years. However the fact remains that at the time I visited this salon around 10 months ago the knowledge of their relaxers was poor.
  
  I was told that Affirm Fibreguard and Mizani Butterblend were the 2 relaxers I could choose from. The owner brought out what she insisted was the Affirm Fiberguard relaxer but was in fact the (much stronger) basic Affirm relaxer (this is the predecessor to Affirm Fiberguard). These are 2 very different relaxers made by the same company but the owner just kept saying "its Fiberguard" and "thats what they sent us" apparently completely oblivious to the fact that this was the standard basic Affirm relaxer - the container wasnt even in Fiberguard container - I know this because Ive used it numerous times. Such a basic lack of knowledge of the different relaxers didnt inspire me with much confidence but anyway....
  
  I opted for the Mizani Butterblend relaxer (which shed used on my hair before but it hadnt really straigtened it properly. I thought this time might be better). This was indeed Mizani Butterblend. Problem is Mizani have updated their Butterblend relaxer and the latest version is called Buttlerblend HG. The one used in the salon was the basic Butterblend and it does nothing for very thick coarde hair like mine - hence the fact that it didnt straighten my hair properly.
  
  I feel that the owner could vastly improve her service if she updated her knowledge on the different relaxers each company manufactures (all this information is available on the web - just Google). The 2 relaxers on offer were earlier versions of what is now available.
  
  Im sorry, but to insist that a relaxer is something it isnt (as was the case with the Affirm v Affirm Fiberguard) is just shoddy.
  
  With the Butterblend version used by this salon after around 6 weeks my hair looked like it hasnt been relaxed for about 3 months.
  
  Im aware many folk dont care what relaxers are used and dont take an interest in whats going on their hair. I do. And Ive researched both Mizani and Affirm brands - I know the different relaxers they produce.
  
  Apart from that, like I said, the staff are wonderful.
